Question by ironwood9: What constitutes a 'sex talk' for parents who believe in abstience for their male teen ?

I'm a father whose own father never talked to me about anything - nothing. Do you have to do this ? I don't mind, but what am I supposed to say ? "Don't have sex with a girl" !

Explain how babies are made ? Don't they get that in school ?

They do get this in school. I never had a sex talk, and it wasn't necessary, because I learned everything in health class.
If you do have a talk, you really need to NOT push your beliefs on your son. You may believe in not having sex until marriage, but he might not, and it's important to let your kid make his own decisions. Also, if you tell him DO NOT HAVE SEX, he might (as most normal teens do!) rebel and instead have lots of sex.
